Dr. Bernardoni’s research trajectory is grounded in aesthetic science. Dr. Bernardoni incorporates qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods to answer questions about empirical aesthetics and their relationships with subjects such as generational preferences, gender identity, sustainability, and social media. Dr. Bernardoni uses transdisciplinary and divergent thinking approaches for exploratory research and theory development in his research agenda on aesthetics.

Dr. Bernardoni received a Ph.D. in Textiles, Apparel Design and Merchandising from Louisiana State University, an M.F.A in Costume Design, and a B.A. in French from the University of Oklahoma. He also received a Specialization in Draping, Patternmaking, and Fashion Design from the Chambre Syndicale de Haute Couture in Paris, France. He is a former U.S. Naval officer as well as a former professional ballet dancer who performed and toured with Oklahoma Festival Ballet, L’Opéra Municipale de Clermont-Ferrand, France and Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo based in New York
